September is the month when we send our precious children off to the security of school for seven to eight hours. We wipe the sweat from our foreheads on that first day as they walk or ride to school and say, "Finally they are ready!"  

Question: I saw in one of your recent articles talking about stopping for a school bus.

The intersection of Main Street and Highway 75 has been closed since Aug. 24 for construction, and will remain so for several more weeks. Workers are rebuilding the intersection to include wider turn radiuses for truck traffic, safer pedestrian crossing and a new traffic signal system.

Luverne hosted the Bruce Gluf Invitational cross country meet early Saturday, Sept. 12.

Luverne and Adrian-Ellsworth runners posted strong performances throughout the divisions.

Twelve high school teams participated in five total varsity and junior varsity races.

Generations celebrated its 56th anniversary on Sept. 12 with an open house, which included recognition for Neva Claussen who served the organization for 35 years.
