It’s nearly April! Spring is officially here. We’re all going to pretend there’s no possibility of any surprise snowstorms. 

I was on Day 4 of Gramma duty. 

I had just finished logging my Kentucky granddaughters into their online Zoom class. 

With swiftness and confidence, I signed them in, adjusted their cameras and renamed them in their participant profiles. 

The weather and basketball have dominated conversations at the office, at coffee and just about everywhere else. This column is about a little bit of both. 

The past week to 10 days has been one for the record book as far as the weather is concerned. 

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office issued the following information Tuesday afternoon regarding its involvement in the investigation of the case of the Sioux Falls 14-year-old McKenna Wendel: 

Local emergency responders were dispatched to a personal injury crash Tuesday morning on Highway 75 in the area of the Luverne Public Schools.

•Complainant on S. Kniss Avenue reported an outage. 

•Complainant reported an accident with property damage on Highway 23 and 111th Intersection near Beaver Creek. 

March 16-20 was Farm Week at the Rock County Community Library, which hosted several days’ worth of community activities and programs.

•The gravel pit pond in Luverne has become known as the Creamery Pond, due to its proximity to the former Land “O Lakes creamery.
