The Luverne girls’ varsity hockey team split two games this past week, beating New Ulm 3-1 on the road Thursday, Nov. 20, and falling 2-1 to Minnesota River at home Saturday, Nov. 22.

The Hills-Beaver Creek High School football team wrapped up a spectacular season with a resounding state championship win Saturday in Minneapolis.

Luverne will officially kick off the Christmas season on Sunday, Nov. 30, with the annual arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, lighted displays at the city park, and a full lineup of holiday attractions downtown.

Hills-Beaver Creek elementary staff members moved materials into their new 57,400 square-foot elementary building on Monday.

Patriot Pals Child Care Center in Beaver Creek will open next week.

Luverne Area Chamber conducted a ribbon-cutting Saturday morning for the grand opening of Functional Nutrition on Main Street Luverne.
