Luverne Elementary teacher Laura Louwagie is this year’s Teacher of the Year and was honored Monday afternoon during a kick-off celebration for American Education Week.

A group dedicated to supporting music at Luverne Public Schools is this year’s Friend of Education as named by the Luverne Education Association (LEA).

November is National Family Caregivers Appreciation Month — a time to honor and recognize the vital role that family, friends and neighbors play in caring for loved ones who need support due to age, illness or disability.
