    The Luverne 19-and-under (19U) baseball team won the Summer Shutdown Legion Baseball Tournament played Friday through Sunday in Garretson, S.D. The tournament comprised four of the six games the Cardinals played during a busy week in which they went 6-0 over five consecutive days. Luverne is now 8-3 on the pandemic-abbreviated season.     The Luverne Redbirds ended the regular season on top of the Gopher League and earned the No. 1 seed in the first round of the First Nite/Gopher League playoffs.
