The Luverne Cardinals and Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots girls’ golf teams played in the Worthington Invite Saturday, April 6, for their first meet of the season.
The girls played 18 holes in wind gusts upward of 50 miles per hour at times.
“This was a tough day to be our first meet,” Luverne head coach Chris Nowatzki said.

The Luverne baseball team traveled to Fairmont for their first game of the season, beating the Fairmont Cardinals 4-2 Monday, April, 8.

With the announcement of Jaxon Nelson, a native of Magnolia and LHS hockey standout, signing a one-year entry-level hockey contract with the NHL Boston Bruins, Luverne has two more hockey players from the 2014 state hockey team who attained professional hockey status.

The Luverne High School track and field team opened its 2024 season traveling to Brookings to compete in the Ruth Marske Invitational Saturday, March 23, at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
