    The Luverne gymnastics team finished its regular season with three meet wins this past week.     Luverne wrestler Matthew Gangestad, a junior, placed second in the 2024 Ninth Grade State Tournament Saturday, Feb. 3, in Champlin Park. Gangestad and Hudson Hough qualified for the state tournament Jan. 27 at the Region 2 competition in Redwood Valley.     The Cardinals and Patriots met in Hills Monday, Feb. 5, with Luverne taking the game 63-59. It was a back-and-forth physical game that came down to the last few minutes of play to decide the winner. In the end, Luverne was able to hit a couple free throws to put the game out of reach for H-BC. Game stats were not available for this week’s  Star-Herald printing on Tuesday.
