    The Luverne baseball team opened their 2025 season beating Pipestone 9-1 and Worthington 12-2 Thursday, April 3, at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls. Conditions were cool and overcast with teams playing on all turf fields.     The Patriots golf team traveled to take on Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Friday, April 4, for their first match of the season.     The Luverne boys’ tennis team traveled Saturday, April 5, for a doubleheader against Yellow Medicine and Montevideo.     The Luverne girls’ golf team traveled to Worthington Friday, April 4, for an 18-hole invitational of seven teams. Teams invited were Murray County Central, Fairmont, Lakeview, Jackson County Central, Lac qui Parle Valley, Luverne, and the host team Worthington.
