It never ends

The summer is quickly fading into what looks to be a great fall hunting season.  Even though it is several months away I still spend more time than I should wondering just how successful the pheasant hatch was.

PowerOn Midwest narrows routes

PowerOn Midwest has narrowed its preferred route for a proposed high-voltage transmission project, and one of its choices would cut through Rock County within one mile of the Blue Mounds State Park.

Main Street intersection to close Aug. 24

The second phase of construction on Highway 75 is set to begin on Aug. 24, with the closure of the Main Street intersection.

Traffic will be diverted to an alternate detour on South Freeman Avenue and West Hatting Street. 

Voters participate in primary election

Rock County voters participated in the state primary election Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Ballots included both major parties on one side and local, nonpartisan primary contests on the other side. 

Beaver Creek celebrates Beaver Days

Beaver Creek community members and visitors celebrated tthe weekend with a full lineup of events and activities for all ages.

A Friday golf tournament and car show kicked off the festivities ahead of Saturday’s Beaver Days events that featured a parade with 53 entries.

Weber honored by state organizations

The League of Minnesota Cities has recognized 23 state lawmakers, including Sen. Bill Weber (R-Luverne), as 2026 Legislators of Distinction.
