The Luverne girls’ hockey team is heading to the state tournament after beating Marshall 3-2 in an exciting section championship game Tuesday, Feb. 10, in St Peter.
The Luverne gymnastics team placed second in the team section meet and qualified one gymnast for the state meet in St. Paul Feb. 20-21 at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium.
The Luverne boys’ hockey team beat New Ulm 6-3 Thursday, Feb. 12, at home and fell 6-2 to Waseca Friday, Feb. 13, on the road in the Cardinals’ final two games of the regular season.
They finish with a 21-4-1 regular season record as they push on the section play.
The Luverne boys’ basketball team beat Worthington 65-52 at home Thursday, Feb. 12.
The Trojans took a 30-27 lead in the first half of the game, but Luverne switched gears and outscored the Trojans 38-22 in the second half to collect the conference victory.
