Cardinals baseball team sweeps six games, improves record to 12-1 for the season

The Luverne High School baseball team won five games in a row this past week to improve to 12-1 for the season.

LHS beat Pipestone 16-6 at home Tuesday, April 28.

Luverne took two games from Redwood Valley Thursday, April 30, beating Redwood 18-2 in Game 1 and 14-1 in Game 2.

Girls’ softball team gives up six games in busy week on the diamond

The Luverne girls’ softball team gave up six games in the past week to fall to 4-10 for the season.

The Cardinals lost 11-5 to Pipestone Tuesday, April 28, on the road.

LHS and H-BC shine at Howard Wood Relays

High school athletes from Luverne and Hills-Beaver Creek track and field teams participated in the 101st Annual Howard Wood Dakota Relays May 1-2 in Sioux Falls.

Patriots, Cardinals run strong at Bob Nangle Relay

Luverne and Hills-Beaver Creek High School track and field teams participated in the Bob Nangle Relays in Pipestone Tuesday, April 28.

They were among 13 teams to participate in cool and slightly windy conditions.

LHS girls’ track and field team wins True Team

The Luverne High School girls’ track and field team topped 12 schools to move on in the Section 3A True Team competition.

The Cardinals took top honors at the event Monday, May 4, in Pipestone with a team combined score of 685.
