Luverne hosted the 2026 Section 3A South Subsection Track and Field competition Thursday, May 21.

The LHS girls’ team placed first with a team score of 205 and Hills-Beaver Creek placed second with a score of 122.

The Luverne High School softball team closed its 2026 section run going 2-2 in Section 3AA play.

The Cardinals beat Windom 4-2 Tuesday, May 19, in Round 1 of the section finals.

LHS and H-BC trap shooting teams recorded scores for a final week of the 2026 spring season.

Luverne finished the five-week season in third place in Class 2A, Conference 4 team standings with a total of 6,507.00 targets hit.

For the first time in over 15 years the H-BC boys’ golf team is heading to Day 2 of the Section 3A Team Golf tournament.

There are 12 teams in Section 3A with the top four teams advancing to Day 2.

The Luverne High School golf team qualified six players for Day 2 of Section 3AA individual competition this past week.

The Luverne High School baseball team fell 7-0 to Montevideo in their last regular game of the season Thursday, May 21, on the road.

LHS was scheduled to host Worthington Friday, May 23, but that game was canceled due to weather.

The Luverne boys’ tennis team sent two players to the Section 3A individual tournament in Redwood Valley Thursday, May 21.

Seniors Elijah Henrichs and Austin Sandbulte faced stiff competition in their first round of the event.

For many hunters spring provides their greatest calling. Most hunting takes place in the fall when pheasants, grouse, rabbits, squirrels, deer and other game seasons are in full swing.  Spring has one stand out that happens in the opposite end of the calendar.
