    The Luverne Cardinals football team traveled to Blue Earth Friday, Sept. 29. The Cardinals handed the Buccaneers a 30-7 loss and are now 4-1 on the season going into next week’s homecoming game against Pipestone.     The Luverne Cardinals boys’ and girls’ cross country teams traveled to St. James Tuesday, Sept. 26. The girls’ varsity 5,000-meter team took fourth place, and the girls’ junior varsity 1,600-meter team finished in first place.     The Luverne girls’ tennis team faced two tough opponents on the road this past week.
