Tire safety is year-round

Question: I know you talk about the importance of tires when it comes to the winter months but I think it’s just as important to talk about it in the spring with rain and wet roads. Thank you.

H-BC golfer Abigayl Olson has strong showing at state tournament

Hills-Beaver Creek senior Abigayl Olson capped off an outstanding high school golf career with a strong performance at the Minnesota Class A State Golf Tournament June 9 and 10. 

The tournament was held at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn. 

Touch a Truck event brings hands-on learning

On Monday evening in the south parking lot of the Luverne Elementary School, every large vehicle imaginable could be found parked in rows.

•Almost 70 years of classroom experience won’t be returning to Luverne Public Schools when just two longtime teachers decided to retire at the end of the 2015-16 school year. 

Redbirds split games with Pipestone, Windom

The Luverne Redbirds moved their record to 3-5 after splitting games with Pipestone and Windom in the past week.

The Redbirds defeated the Pipestone A’s 7-3 at home Wednesday, June 10, before falling to the Windom Pirates 6-5 Sunday, June 14, on the road.

Lions Club sponsors Camp Gilbert Youth

The Luverne Lions Club donated funds to cover the tuition of two local students so they can attend one week of Diabetes Camp at Camp Gilbert in Estelline, S.D. The two students sponsored by the club this year are Parker Oye and Nick Lenz.
