Rock and Zix partcipate in girls’ youth state tourney

LHS freshman Ellie Rock and seventh-grader Gemma Zix participated in the 2026 Minnesota Girls’ Wrestling League (MNGWL) Ninth-Grade and Under State Tournament in Champlin Park Saturday, Jan. 31.

Rock finished in fifth place with a 2-2 record on the day.

Luverne girls’ hockey wins two, improves to 15-7

The Luverne girls’ hockey team improved their season record to 15-7 beating Fairmont and Princeton-Big Lake-Becker this past week.

The Cardinals skated past Fairmont winning 8-0 at home Tuesday, Jan. 20, and blanked Princeton-Big Lake-Becker 8-0 on the road Saturday, Jan. 24.

Lady Pates win one, fall twice

H-BC girls go 1-2 this week and are now 14-3 for the season.

The Patriots beat Westbrook Walnut Gove 79-53 at home Thursday, Jan. 22, fell 57-51 to DeSmet on the road Saturday, Jan. 24, and lost 62-48 to West Lyon at home Monday, Jan. 26.
