    The Hills-Beaver Creek track team was one of four teams that competed at the Murray County Central invite on Friday, May 7, in Slayton.     The Luverne Cardinals’ tennis team improved to 9-0 with a 4-3 victory over Pipestone Area on Thursday, May 6, in Pipestone. Luverne’s top singles player, Pierce Cunningham, defeated Tony Wacker in straight sets. Cunningham won the first set 6-0 and then picked up a 6-1 second-set victory to win the match.     The Luverne Redbirds amateur baseball team fell to the Milroy Irish on Sunday, May 9, in Luverne. The Irish bested the Redbirds 10-4.     The Luverne Cardinals softball team snapped a four-game losing streak on Tuesday, April 27, by defeating the Adrian/Ellsworth Dragons 6-4 in Luverne.
