Next week is Valentine’s Day, and Friday, Feb. 7, is the deadline to sign up for a giant frosted heart cookie for the lovers and loved ones in our lives.
A thoughtful local nonprofit is hosting a creative fundraiser, “Cookies for a Cause,” to support their mission and to encourage thoughtful gifts timed with Valentine’s Day.
Luv1LuvAll is a non-profit organization that addresses issues in the community that were previously overlooked, were difficult to tackle or needed greater public awareness.
Valentine’s Day is a day for love, affection and friendship. It is celebrated on Feb. 14 each year.
Combine the two — Luv1LuvAll and Valentine’s Day — with giant frosted heart-shaped cookies, and you have the perfect celebration of love (or ‘Luv’ as the group is named).
B's Bakehouse in Luverne is making the treats, each with a unique marbling of red and white frosting atop a large sugar cookie, sealed and ready to send as a gift with a gift tag.
Each cookie costs $5, and orders of 5, 10, 25 or even 100 cookies are possible.
Call the Luverne Area Chamber at 507-283-4061 to place an order. Friday, Feb. 7, is the deadline to order. Cash, check, credit card or Venmo (@Luv1LuvAll) are accepted.
Cookies will be ready for pickup from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Generations on Thursday, Feb. 13. Cookies can be delivered to Luverne Schools. Call 507-227-3820 if other arrangements are needed.
Everyone who places an order has a chance to win the Golden Ticket, a $50 gift certificate for a dinner at the Bullpen, and two movie tickets to the Palace Theatre!
Cookie sale proceeds return to the community through these efforts of Luv1LuvAll:
•Brain Health — they organized the Mental Health GAP Fund and support other local mental wellness efforts.
•Children’s mobile dental clinic through the Rock County Oral Health Task Force.
•Sweet Dreams bed project for local families in need
•Resource One: local resource guides.
•Community outreach and education.
All the efforts of #Luv1LuvAll are supported through grants, county support, individual and business contributions and local fundraisers.
