The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house in Luverne on Tuesday, April 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Trailhead, 601 E. Main Street, to learn about the Highway 75 project through Luverne, which is planned for 2026 construction. There is no formal presentation planned, and attendees are welcome to arrive anytime. I, for one, am thrilled silly about the prospect of having three traffic lanes striped on Highway 75 instead of the four many of us have grown to know and love. The reasons are many, but I think my main reason is — having a turning lane down the center of the highway has a “big city” feel to it. I like it. This ain’t Mayberrry no more.
