The historic Power Fitness building will reopen next spring as “Smith Mercantile,” a nod to the 1886 founding of Smith Furniture, which operated in the building for 100 years.
A group of local leaders and donors have signed a purchase agreement on the historic downtown Power Fitness building with plans to renovate it for retail space.
