Rock County Commissioners passed a resolution Nov. 7 to turn back the maintenance of selected roadways in the city of Luverne. Luverne is considered a State Aid City due to its population growth to over 5,000 residents. The resolution stipulated the roadways (in red) are now Municipal State Aid streets while the roadways (in blue) continue to be maintained under the state’s County State Aid Highway system. City resumes responsibility for 2.72 miles of streets for county

After a 33-year hiatus, the city of Luverne once again qualifies as a State Aid City and will take control of certain streets back from Rock County.
