Beaver Creek Cemetery annual meeting will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Beaver Creek Fire Hall.
Hollyhoppers Square Dance Club will meet at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Brown School in Pipestone. Don Nugent will call this dance.
Valley Springs Cemetery lot owners will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, at the First Lutheran Church.
Maplewood Cemetery annual membership and board of directors meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 18, at the Rock County Human Services Building.
Hardwick American Legion will have their regular meeting  April 19.

Luverne Optimist Club meets at 6:30 p.m. every first and third Monday of the month in the Howling Dog Saloon, Luverne.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays in the Rock County Community Library.
Luverne Township Board meets at 9 a.m. the second Wednesday of every month in the Rock County Community Library.
Denver Township Board meets the third Tuesday of every month in the Hardwick City Hall.
Mound Township Board meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Monday each month at the Rock County Highway Building, Luverne.

Weight Watchers meets every Monday in First Presbyterian Church, Luverne. Weigh-in is from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and the meeting is from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Call (800) 651-6000.
Luverne Tops 698 meets for weigh-in at 8 a.m. every Thursday in the Pizza Ranch. The meeting follows at 8:45 a.m.
 
Parenting classes offered
Southwestern Mental Health Center is offering a free four-week parenting class for parents with children 2-18 will begin at 6:30 p.m. April 14, 21, 28 and May 5 and the mental health center in Luverne. Supper and cost for childcare is provided. Call 283-9511 to register. Limited spaces available.
 
‘School Daze’ musical at Luverne Elementary April 15
The Luverne Elementary first and fourth grades will present their music program, “School Daze,” at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, in the elementary gym. Revisit the fun trials and tribulations that students experience in school.
 
Local Easter egg hunts listed
•Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Society invites children up to age 8 to their annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16. Be sure to bring a camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
•Magnolia Juniors 4-H Club annual Easter Egg Hunt will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Magnolia City Park for children up to age 8. Call Missy Fick, 220-9981, with questions.
 
‘Belling the Cat’ puppet show at library
In celebration of National Library Week, Jim Oliver with Puppeteer Productions will present the show, “Belling the Cat,” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Rock County Community Library, Luverne. Come to find out how two mischievous mice avoid being caught by a hungry cat. All ages are welcome. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
 
Palm Sunday Cantata at Grace
The Grace Lutheran Church Chancel Choir and children’s choirs will present a Palm Sunday cantata, “The Highest Place,” during the 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services Palm Sunday, April 17. The community is welcome to attend.
 
Luverne tornado drill April 18
The city of Luverne is notifying residents that a tornado drill will be sounded at approximately 6:45 p.m. Monday, April 18. Sirens will be set off with a Haz. Mat. drill and the city emergency operations center will be activated.
 
Arc roses here April 19
Roses that were ordered at the Arc sale can be picked up Tuesday, April 19, beginning at 9 a.m. at the American Legion in Luverne.
 
Register for youth firearms/hunter safety class
Sessions for youth firearms/hunter safety training are offered by the Rock County Sheriff’s Department beginning April 28 for 6 sessions. The classes will be from 7 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., and range day is Saturday, May 7. Phone (507) 283-5000.
