Cats, dogs, rabbits and non-pet owners were characters on display Friday afternoon when the 72 kindergarten students of Luverne Elementary School performed “Best Pet Show Ever!” for friends and family in the performing arts center.

The first of two Class of 2024 graduation ceremonies for the Rock County D.A.R.E. Program took place Monday at Hills-Beaver Creek Elementary School.

Allan Eugene Meinerts was born the youngest of nine children, on August 12, 1948, to John and Freida (Bruns) Meinerts at the Luverne Community Hospital in Luverne, Minnesota.

Judith Diane Fenske was born on July 2, 1944, to Peter and Hazel (Horning) Kuyper in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She grew up in Blue Earth, Minnesota, where she graduated with the class of 1962.

Lois Elaine Nath, age 80, of Luverne, Minnesota, died peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Sanford Luverne Hospital.

Ferdinand J. Tilstra, age 91, of Hills, Minnesota, died peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne, Minnesota.
