Luverne Fire Department members work to extinguish a fire at the Mark and Kari Lais home on North Cedar Street Wednesday, Aug. 23. The family lost a cat and a dog, and there was so much smoke damage that the home’s interior will need to be entirely gutted and rebuilt.
