Rock County applied for a $25 million grant to construct a transload and rail yard facility east of Magnolia. The facility consists of a 40,000-square-foot warehouse and 11 tracks off the Buffalo Ridge Regional Railroad for rail car storage.
A conditional use permit was granted by the Rock County Commissioners March 5 for a temporary recycled oil storage and laydown yard site in Beaver Creek Township located west of Manley along County Road 4 near the Minnesota-South Dakota border. No one provided comment against the project, which had been recommended for approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

County approves rail storage, staging area near Manley

Commissioners approved a conditional use permit for Ellis & Eastern to operate a temporary storage and staging area near the Buffalo Ridge Regional Railroad (BRRR) in western Rock County.
