Meetings
Caregivers Support Group will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 319 E. Lincoln in Luverne for anyone interested. Call Linda Wenzel at 283-5064.
Beaver Creek Township Board will meet at 7:30 pm. Monday, Sept. 14, in the township hall in Beaver Creek.
 
Cliffline climb at state park Sept. 12
Luverne Community Education will offer Cliffline Climbing for Grades 4-12 taught by Roca Climbing and Friends of Blue Mounds State Park.
Morning and afternoon sessions will be Sept. 12. There is no charge, but registration is required. Call 507-283-4724. Use the waiver/registration form from the website to register for all classes.  
 
Adrian Community Blood Drive Sept. 14
The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the EMS center in Adrian. Please consider donating, as local blood supply is seriously low.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, only donors with appointments will be accepted. Schedule an appointment at www.cbblifeblood.org and select “events,” then click on Sept. 14, then Adrian Community Blood Drive.

‘Living Well with Chronic
Conditions’ begins Sept. 14
The class, “Living Well with Chronic Conditions” will be offered online via Zoom video-conferencing for those affected by high cholesterol, arthritis, depression, high/low blood pressure or heart disease.
The objective of the class is to help participants take charge of their health by learning about nutrition, medication use, pain management and much more.
Classes are at 1 p.m. every Monday from Sept. 14 through Oct. 19. Pre-registration is required.

Nutrition for seniors Sept. 17
A.C.E. of SW MN  will offer Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors 60 and older from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17,  in the parking lot at 319 E. Lincoln. Call 283-5064 for more information. Pre-registration is required for those not already enrolled.
 
Monthly Food Giveway Sept. 17
The monthly Food Giveaway will be Thursday, Sept. 17, at 4:30 p.m. at the Generations building, 319 E. Lincoln, Luverne. Those in vehicles are to drive to the double glass doors on the west side of the building and stay in your car. Your groceries will be loaded for you.
Those who are walking are to use the east side of the building. Volunteers will have your groceries pre-packed for you to pick up.

Art Walk at Crow’s Nest Farm Sept. 19
Local and regional artists are planning a fun day for the public to visit Crow’s Nest Farm and enjoy shopping for artists’ works, enjoying the beautiful gardens, visiting the alpacas and chickens, and just enjoying a fun autumn day outdoors.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Ceynowas’ Crow’s Nest Farm, 1074 161st Street, north and west of Luverne. Venders’ booths will be spaced for social distancing, and wearing masks will be an absolute requirement for artists and attendees.
Artists in attendance will include Carol Ceynowa, Jerry and Kathy Deuschle, Mary Petersen, Nan Kaufenberg, Genna Rolfs, Rylee Gee, and Gerry and Julie Punt.
 
Community Education
Four session Yoga class will meet on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 outside beginning Sept. 14. Fee is $32.
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes designed for parents and children birth to age 5 begin meeting for Fall Session on Sept. 15. There are three morning classes and one evening class time to choose from. Enjoy the preschool classroom, other families and learn more about child development and tips to help you as a parent.
 
Meals on Wheels continue in Jasper
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) has provided Meals on Wheels in Jasper through the Sunrise Village, which is now closed. Going forward, meals will be prepared at the LSS Luverne site and delivered to Jasper City Hall twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. There is also an option to add frozen meals for delivery with the hot meals.

History Center open with limited hours
The Rock County History Center is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Some safety precautions — with masks and gloves available — will be in place to protect against the spread of coronavirus. The phone number is 507-283-2122.
