Patriots end volleyball season on high note

Nine seniors finish careers with 4-7 record

On Parents Night the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots volleyball team played their final game of the shortened 2020 season against Edgerton High School. The Patriots did not disappoint the home crowd with a 3-0 victory over the visiting Dutchmen.
In the opening set, H-BC used a long scoring run to pull away from Edgerton. With the Dutchmen trailing 11-8, H-BC went on a 14-5 run to win the first set 25-13.
Taryn Rauk led the Patriots with three kills.
Kenadie Fick recorded two kills and one ace. Abby Knobloch finished with two kills and one ace.
Annie Bos and Tess VanMaanen both recorded one ace.
It was all H-BC in the second set. The Patriots raced out to a 10-3 lead and never looked back en route to a 25-15 second set victory.
Rauk led the Patriots with three kills. The senior middle hitter also recorded two aces.
Knobloch recorded two kills.
Hannah Fick recorded one ace.
Edgerton jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third set. The Patriots responded by going on an 11-3 run to claim an 11-7 lead.
With the two teams deadlocked at 14-14, the Patriots closed out the third set by outscoring Edgerton 11-4 to win 25-18.
Knobloch finished the third set with two kills.
Rauk and Jacey Vanden Hoek both recorded one ace.
With the win, the Patriots finished the 2020 season with a 4-7 record.
They’ll lose nine seniors to graduation. Those nine seniors are Lauren Tatge, Rauk, Bos, Vanden Hoek, Allie LaRock, Knobloch, Hannah Fick, Avery Vis, and Emma Kodet.
