The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ volleyball team had a busy week of matches. The Patriots competed in three matches and went 1-2 to push their record to 2-2 on the season.
H-BC opened the week by playing host to Red Rock Central on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The visitors got the best of the Patriots, winning the match 3-1.
RRC won the first set of the match 25-19. The Patriots bounced back to win the second set 25-20.
In the third set it was the Falcons coming out on top 25-19. RRC put the match away by winning the fourth set 25-15 to win the match 3-1.
Abby Knobloch and Taryn Rauk both recorded five kills to lead the attack. Kenadie Fick finished with four kills.
The Patriots got back into the win column by sweeping Edgerton on Thursday, Oct. 15.
H-BC won a competitive first set 25-22. The second set was another close affair, with the Patriots coming out on top again 25-22.
The third set was all H-BC. The Patriots completed the sweep by winning the third set 25-13.
Knobloch led the Patriots with nine kills. Rauk recorded seven kills. Taylor Durst finished the match with five kills and three blocks. Annie Bos recorded 11 assists.
The Patriots concluded the busy week with a loss to Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Monday, Oct. 19. The visiting team swept the Patriots to drop the Patriots’ record to 2-2.
The first set of the match set the tone for the match as WWG defeated H-BC 25-13. The second set was more of the same as WWG defeated the Patriots 25-15. In the third set, it was all WWG with the visitors completing the sweep with a 25-10 victory.
Knobloch led the Patriots with five kills. Kenadie Fick and Rauk both recorded four kills. Bos recorded 10 assists.
