Dragons, Patriots receive postseason honors

Six athletes from the Star Herald coverage area received postseason honors from Red Rock Conference officials Monday.
Two Adrian-Ellsworth boys and one from Hills-Beaver Creek made the 2019-20 All-Red Rock Conference Boys’ Basketball Team.
Two more H-BC players and one from A-E drew honorable mention from the league’s coaches.
Making the 15-player All-RRC roster are A-E seniors Ian Stamer and Noah Reyne and H-BC senior Jax Wysong.
H-BC senior Kyle Kueter and junior Gavin Wysong drew honorable mention, as did A-E sophomore Payton Lewis.
Southwest Christian and Mountain Lake Area lead the list by landing three all-league selections each.
SWC seniors Jacob Van Dam, Avery Pater and Kade Fey made the team.
Seniors Sam Paulson and Abraham Stoesz and junior Ethan Nickel represent the Wolverines.
Westbrook-Walnut Grove and Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda matched A-E by picking up two All-RRC selections each.
Juniors Ethan Mischke and Hunter Lein made the team for W-WG, while senior Tyler Madison and junior Eli Fest grace the list for HL-O-F.
Murray County Central junior Blake Schmitz and Red Rock Central senior Sam Helmer round out the all-conference squad.
A total of 11 players drew honorable mention.
SWC junior Hunter Vander Haar and sophomore Micah Schaap, MLA senior Spencer Khamvongsa, W-WG junior Nathan Kuehl, HL-O-F senior Brandon Hinkeldey, MCC senior Tyler Winter, RRC senior Jonah Hansen and Edgerton junior Gabe Gilbertson are the other honorable mention selections.
