Dispatch report
Jan. 29
•Complainant found a checkbook belonging to someone local by the ATM at the bank.
•Deputy checked on headlights on the east side of the Jasper elevator. Found it to be employees that had just gotten done loading a train.
•Complainant reported that his wife lost her phone in the parking lot by Community Ed in the last day or so. It is in a pink Otterbox case with lime green and is an iPhone 5s.
•Complainant reported they just moved into location and are finding unsafe things all over the place.
•Complainant reported a dead deer in his grove that wasn’t there a couple of days ago.
•St. Cloud Police Department reported they have some stolen road signs from Luverne. They also have pictures of their signs in a garage in Luverne. Suspects will take the signs back to St. Cloud by Tuesday and bring the Luverne sign back with them at that time.
•Complainant reported she has a protection order against her husband and he sent her a text. Papers have not been served to him yet.
•Complainant reported his wife has been ill and he last checked on her a few hours ago and came home and believes she has passed away. Sent deputy who requested the coroner.
•Complainant reported she lost her front license plate, maybe in Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls Police Department was contacted. They have not had it turned in.
•Complainant reported a possible intoxicated lady in the middle of the street. She is approximately 50 years old. Deputy reported she went behind a house in the area and she is at home.
•Deputy checked on a vehicle parked behind the school. No one around. Non-suspicious activity. Deputy said they were just finishing activities at the school.
Jan. 30
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI refusal and took her to jail.
•Deputy found an open door at a business; checked with owner to see if he was missing a pickup at location. No vehicles missing. They had moved one out of the garage.
•Slayton Police Department received a call from someone in their county that someone in Rock County was threatening suicide. Had deputy check things out. All is well.
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported someone tried to cut her off on I-90. Transferred to patrol.
•Complainant reported someone backed into her and left. It was a small blue car.
•Complainant reported the back window of her van is broken out.
•Complainant reported a hitchhiker on the interstate.  Transferred to patrol. Trooper transported to jail on a warrant out of Stearns County.
Jan. 31
•Complainant reported they moved out of location. They went back yesterday. They had locked the doors and the heat was turned way up. There was a blow-up doll in the closet. Today the heat was turned back up and there was a condom.
•Complainant reported a shoplifter. Deputy arrested him and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported her niece refuses to go back home. Her aunt is trying to get her to go with her, and she’s refusing.
•Complainant reported a black pickup cutting people off and blocking traffic. Someone is hanging out the window trying to touch other cars. Transferred to patrol.
•Complainant reported a walker in the middle of the road. Deputy reported he is close and will pick it up.
•Complainant reported a black pickup with drunk driving conduct on Highway 23 near mile marker 56. Gave to patrol.
•Complainant reported a white Honda Civic is swerving all over. Caller passed the car and it swerved into his lane. Gave to patrol, also. Deputy stopped car matching description.
•Complainant reported he was having detox issues. Transferred to Sioux Falls.
Feb. 1
•Complainant requested deputy stand by for property exchange.
•Complainant reported that someone attempted to break into a building. They did not make entry but damaged door and lock.
•Complainant reported that subject is contacting her and her father in violation of order of protection.
•Complainant reported that he was testing his carbon monoxide detector, and it beeped. Explained to him that it was supposed to beep because he was testing. He requested fire department to check residence. Paged Luverne Fire Department.
Feb. 2
•Dispatcher received 911 hang-up. When complainant was called back, she advised her three-year-old dialed and no sign of duress.
•Complainant reported a black pickup on fire on I-90 eastbound mile marker 5. Paged Beaver Creek Fire Department.
•I-90 is closed from the South Dakota border to at least Blue Earth because of weather.
•Deputy checked on vehicle on the side of the road at County Road 4, one half mile east of County Road 6. All is OK.
•Complainant reported there is a medical emergency at the hospital, and she is required to respond but cannot get out of drive way. Deputy drove complainant to the hospital.
•Complainant reported an employee of theirs is stuck in snow at location. Deputy advised a good Samaritan scooped the car out. Deputy also advised driver she will receive a ticket in the mail for driving after revocation.
•Complainant reported a car parked at the end of his drive and was inquiring about if it would be ticketed or towed before the plows go out. Complainant advised he’s had issues because the street where he backs out is not cleared. I advised him if it is out, it will likely be ticketed. Deputy was advised, and said at 4 a.m. if it is there it will be ticketed.
Feb. 3
•Complainant reported they do not have any money and are stranded in Luverne with two kids. They were looking for some help. They were issued a Salvation Army voucher for a motel room.
•Complainant reported that he helped a guy and now he’s refusing to pay him the $40 he owes. He hopped in his car, which is parked by Sturdevant’s, and he is going to leave. The vehicle is a white blazer with South Dakota plates and a bicycle on back.
•Rock County Highway Department requested that a deputy check on two vehicles that are on the road at location and have been there all night. They are trying to plow and need to have them moved. Called G&S to tow.
•Complainant requested the name of the supervisor for the highway department. One of the county workers treated his son disrespectfully. He was given the number to the highway department.
•Complainant requested traffic control for a broken-down road grader on Hwy 75, 1/2 mile south of town.
•Complainant reported she slid into a sign on Sioux Valley Drive.
•Complainant reported her eight-year-old son locked himself in the bedroom and won’t open the door for her. By the time the deputy arrived, the child was out.
•Deputies picked up a runaway in Luverne who was entered by the Lynchburg, Virginia, Police Department. She was brought up to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and released to her grandparents.
•Complainant reported what appeared to be a personal injury accident at Brown and Estey. Paged ambulance. No transport.
•Complainant requested to speak to a deputy. He has a roommate, but hasn’t been there for a couple of months, and his roommate told him he can’t get his stuff back.
Feb. 4
•Complainant called the law enforcement center and spoke with a deputy regarding his thoughts on the county attorney.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on subject. No contact with subject.
•Complainant requested to speak with a deputy about a fraud. It was not a fraud but a civil matter between family members.
•Complainant requested extra patrol this weekend because she has an order for protection and is afraid her husband will try to break it for son’s birthday.
•Complainant reported a couple of girls locked the keys in their car at Dollar General.
•Complainant reported a guest acting crazy and thinks guest may be on something.
In addition, officers responded to 5 motor vehicle accidents, 6 vehicles in ditch, 18 traffic stops, 4 funeral escorts, 22 ambulance runs, 12 parking violations, 4 paper services, 3 animal complaints, 1 false alarm, 2 fingerprint requests, 7 log/alarm sheets, 5 drug court tests, 5 money escorts, 3 predatory offender registries, 1 emergency response unit call, and issued 12 purchase/carry permits and 19 burn permits.
