Dispatch report
June 5
•Complainant reported that he is in Glen’s parking lot and it’s in the handicap spot and the vehicle isn’t marked as handicapped. Sent deputy who said they did have a place card.
•Complainant reported that her son was not allowed to sell things at the Farmers Market and she thought that was against her civil rights.
•Complainant reported that they have been receiving prank calls from someone in Chicago, Illinois. Caller will only speak to women and hangs up if a man answers. Caller states his name is Steven. Complainant contacted the phone company to have the number blocked.
•Complainant reported that his neighbor hit his vehicle with his lawn mower. He would like a deputy to come to his place.
•Complainant reported that her father was at her house and calling them names, yelling and screaming. Complainant was advised to get a restraining order.
•Deputy stopped subject who was revoked. Called G&S for a tow.
•Deputy arrested subject and took him to jail on a disorderly charge.
•Lyon County requested a welfare check on a suicidal person on I-90. Vehicle and person were found just into South Dakota on I-90 eastbound.
•Complainant reported a suspected neglected child approximately six months of age. Notified Family Services.
•Deputy warned male for urinating in public when there was a porta-potty five feet away.
June 6
•Deputy conducted a traffic stop and the driver had an expired license. He was told he couldn’t drive and to get it updated as soon as possible. Wife drove home.
•Deputy warned subject for disturbing the peace.
•Deputy warned subject for curfew and he was told to go home.
•Luverne Fire Department reported they would be out for the parade.
•Complainant reported that subject in Hardwick rides his 3-wheeler all hours of the day and night. It sounds like it doesn’t have an exhaust. Subject looks to be in his mid 20s.
•Complainant reported there was a vehicle parked on N. Estey Street for about a week and it has a broken headlight and the side was all smashed.
•Complainant reported that her son mows ditches and there is a big bunch of tires dumped there by someone. They are in the south ditch on 41st Street between 100th and 110th avenues.
•Complainant requested a deputy to stop by his home because when he left, his doors were locked and he believes someone has been in his house in Hills.
•Complainant reported that they were driving through the lot at the new Herman Motors and another vehicle backed into him. There was a tiny crack in the front bumper of the Honda.
•Complainant reported she is getting messaged from subject on Facebook and she doesn’t know him and is afraid he is stalking her. Sent deputy.
•Complainant reported they got a cat off Craigslist and the lady didn’t tell them it was sick and they had to get rid of it. Now they are being harassed by the lady.
•Complainant reported loud music playing. Deputy advised subject to turn it down.
June 7
•Complainant reported a lard party on N. Blue Mound Avenue. Deputy spoke to one of the renters about it.
•Complainant reported her carbon monoxide detector is going off. Paged Luverne Fire Department.
•Complainant reported a couple walking southbound on Estey Street and they are having an argument and carrying a child.
•Deputy stopped subject and cited him for speed and no insurance. He also had a warrant out of Jackson County so he was taken to jail.
•Deputy arrested a female for punching her husband.
•Complainant requested a residence check for a week.
June 8
•Complainant reported a branch in the middle of the road on Hwy. 75 at the bridge. Deputy removed the branch from the roadway.
•Complainant reported missing 10 heads of Holsteins.
•Complainant reported a young child at Sassy Seconds who can’t find parents.
•Complainant reported smoke alarms going off in apartment building at 415 E. Lincoln Street. Fire chief reported it was burned food.
June 9
•Complainant reported one of their trucks tore the trailer liner when turning the corner at the stoplights at Cedar St. and Main St. Had the city check the stoplights as they were tilted.
•Complainant requested a deputy for a verbal fight. Two people were removed from the home.
•Complainant reported subject and his girlfriend are arguing in the yard.
June 10
•Complainant requested a business check for the next couple of weeks.
•Complainant reported a white male with tattoos acting like he was going to fight a black male at McDonalds. White male left in a black Trailblazer. Unknown direction of travel.
•Complainant reported a car just ran into their house. Paged ambulance and Luverne Fire Department. Subject was taken to jail.
•Complainant reported her son is not at her house and not at his father’s either. He is driving her vehicle. He was located.
•Complainant reported traffic cones across the road on County Rd. 5 and 70th Avenue. Deputy removed the cones.
June 11
•Complainant reported a domestic. Requested ambulance for male subject who was hit in the head. Deputy transported female to hospital also. Both were later taken to jail.
•Reserved for POR registration.
•Complainant reported possible criminal sexual conduct.
•Family Services requested a deputy’s assistance as they are taking a child out of the home.
•Dispatch receive a call from an unknown number. Subject stated he is with Topanga Service Center in India. He then began to ask dispatch if we wanted to catch him because his purpose is to scam U.S. citizens out of their money in the range between $99 to $400. Subject stated his name was Alex Williams. He then disconnected the call.
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported ATVs speed up and down 131st Street at least once a week. State Patrol was also notified so conservation officer knows we’re having ATV problems.
•Complainant reported suspicious activity in a house in Luverne. When asked what type of activity, he said people were going in and out a lot and it could have something to do with drugs.
 
In addition, officers responded to 1 motor vehicle accident, 1 transport, 9 ambulance runs, 1 parking violation, 5 paper services, 11 animal complaints, 2 false alarms, 1 fingerprint request, 1 gas drive-off, 7 log/alarm sheets, 4 drug court tests, and issued 2 purchase/carry permits and 11 burn permits.
