Dispatch report
July 17
•Deputy stopped subject and had vehicle towed.
•Deputy stopped two subjects and transported them home to City Centre Apartments.
•Complainant reported they found a billfold last Thursday night at the Hills City Park. It is at the Hills City offices.
•Complainant reported she was in court on Monday and renters were told they needed to be out and they are not. Sent deputy.
•Complainant reported a mother had called in saying there was a black lab with no tags on W. Dodge Street. The dog came at her son.
•Deputy had a vehicle towed that was sitting on S. West Park Street with expired plates. Also contacted city hall because of furniture sitting on the front lawn.
•Complainant reported her sister is arguing with her mother. There was a language barrier. Daughter wanted to leave the house and mother wouldn’t allow it.

•Complainant requested the fire department. Her dryer is on fire.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call and could hear a person say they are not American but he would not speak after that.
July 18
•Complainant reported an archway and some potted plants were vandalized overnight in Hardwick.
•Complainant reported smoke coming from a residence near 140th Avenue and 111th Street.
•Complainant reported he was kicked out of the motel and doesn’t have anywhere to live. It was suggested he go to the homeless shelter in Sioux Falls. This is the second motel he’s been kicked out of in Luverne.
•Complainant reported a suicide. Paged ambulance. Contacted coroner and Dingmann Funeral Home.
•Complainant reported subject is driving without insurance.
•Complainant reported a big hay bale out on Hwy. 75 by 141st Street.
•Complainant reported a car pulled into his driveway and there is a man in the backseat who does not belong there. When deputies arrived, there was only one occupant and it was a woman who said she was short on gas. She was given gas and sent on her way.
•Complainant reported bags of salt in the road at E. Crawford St. and N. Freeman Ave.
•Complainant reported an intoxicated individual driving on County Rd. 4 into Luverne. Vehicle was home when deputies went looking for him.
July 19
•Deputy reported that someone stopped him and told him there is a suspicious person wearing all black and walking on Hwy. 75 near 161st Street.
•Complainant reported her sister ran away again. She left while everyone was sleeping. Complainant believes subject may have gone to her boyfriend’s house.
•Reserved for POR registration.
•Deputy conducted traffic stop. Driver slid into the ditch and tried to get out and the vehicle started to tip. Deputy requested a tow.
•Complainant reported her ex is posting things on Facebook about her.
•Deputy reported a hitchhiker at I-90 eastbound Luverne exit. Subject was given ride to Nobles County.
•Deputy received a report of subject driving around Hardwick with his three-wheeler and he doesn’t have a valid license.
•Complainant reported child custody issues. Deputy found out there was no custody agreement and advised them to get it established through court.
•Complainant reported three little boys are at the creamery pond fishing without adult supervision. One little boy is swinging his hook around and it may be animal cruelty.
•Complainant reported a guy just assaulted her boyfriend.
July 20
•Complainant reported someone vandalized his son’s vehicle overnight.
•Complainant reported kids are vandalizing the city park in Magnolia. They know who is doing it.
•Complainant brought in a bankcard that she found while walking her dog. Contacted owner.
•Complainant reported they had a trailer hauling hay bales, which lost a wheel on Hwy. 75. Complainant will be taking part of it home and coming back for the rest. A small section of the trailer is over the fog line. Notified State Patrol.
•Complainant reported an animal bite that occurred in the county.
•Complainant reported she was approached by subject at the gas station who told her to keep her kids off the street. She felt she was being harassed by this.
•Complainant reported she is a victim of identity theft.
•Complainant reported a trailer stolen from his place. Called back and said a friend had borrowed it.
•Complainant reported they had a vagrant at the gas station looking for a place to stay. No motel room available in Luverne. Met with Nobles County deputy to transport to Worthington.
July 21
•Complainant reported an aluminum sheet in the road on I-90 westbound, mm 19.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call from the church and no one was on the line. Sent sheriff who said they were working on the elevator there and that’s why dispatch could not call. They were advised to have that number changed to the regular number instead of 911.
•Complainant reported a burglary.
•Complainant reported his ex changed the amount on a check he had written to her.
•Complainant reported he was out in a field in his golf cart. He got hung up and can’t get it to go. Transferred to Nobles County, as it was in his field.
•Complainant reported cars coming and going from a residence and it could be a drug deal going on. If the deputy doesn’t take care of the problem, he will.
•Complainant reported she heard what sounded like two gunshots. Deputy reported subject lit fireworks on North Freeman Ave.
July 22
•Complainant reported subject is not following the agreed upon written custody schedule. She is not telling him where his children are.
•Complainant reported he had his debit card information stolen.
•Reserved for POR registration update.
•Complainant reported someone from Direct TV talked her elderly grandmother into switching her cable to them. Complainant is the POA for her grandmother and can’t get anywhere with the company. They took out the previous cable equipment.
•Complainant reported possible child abuse/neglect.
•Complainant reported a car pulled into Glen’s and a toddler was standing in the car seat not buckled in. Complainant is afraid they will leave the same way. Deputy observed the mother working in the backseat for some time and the child appeared to be buckled in.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on a suicidal individual in Luverne. Unknown weapons but subject said he would overdose. Located subject and he denied wanting to hurt himself. Family will stay with him through the night.
July 23
•Complainant reported a patron is harassing him and he would like it to stop. Deputy arrested man for disorderly conduct and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported a blue pickup in front of his house and there is garbage in the street and on his yard. The kid won't listen to him when he tells him to pick it up. Sent deputy to check it out.
•Complainant reported vandalism to his vehicle overnight. Complainant believes he knows who did it, due to prior issues.
•Complainant reported his soon to be ex left the kids with her new boyfriend and the boyfriend is refusing to let him have them.
•Complainant reported that a resident was out past his four hour curfew, which was at 1:30 p.m. He is riding a white bike, wearing a blue shirt, dark blue jeans, and has glasses. She texted him to tell him to come back and he responded with “nope”. Subject returned at 2:05 p.m.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on the neighbor who hasn’t been seen in a while again. Subject was located and is fine.
•Complainant reported that there was a boat on the corner of McKenzie Street and Dodge Street that was sticking out into the intersection making it hard to see oncoming traffic. Also, there is a fish house at the same location making it hard to see from another direction. Complainant said he has reported this in the past and nothing has been done.
•Complainant requested a deputy come to the emergency room for a disruptive person.
•Complainant reported her daughter took off and went to her dad’s. Requested deputy get the daughter and bring her home, as she has full custody.
 
 
In addition, officers responded to 2 motor vehicle accidents, 2 transports, 3 funeral escorts, 22 ambulance runs, 1 parking violation, 2 paper services, 7 animal complaints, 7 log/alarm sheets, 4 drug court tests, and issued 5 purchase/carry permits and 14 burn permits.
