Rock County Board of Commissioners December 03, 2024

Rock County Law Enforcement Center/Training Room 4:30 P.M.

Chair Burger called the meeting to order with all commissioners present.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited in unison.

Agenda of 3 December 2024 was approved by a motion from Reisch seconded by Thompson, declared carried voice vote.

County Board meeting minutes of 19 November 2024 were approved on a motion from Reisch seconded by Overgaard declared carried voice vote.

Beth Wilms, Director SWHHS and Cindy Nelson, Division Director Social Services presented an update on the delivery of mental health services in Rock County. They informed the board that they continue to work with local providers to ensure essential services are delivered starting on 1 January when the contract with the Southwest Mental Health Center expires. They stressed that there may be some growing pains as they continued to contract with providers, but they should have any potential gaps in service met within the 1st quarter of 2025. The County Board thanked them for their efforts and for the update.

Claims were reviewed and approved on a motion by Overgaard seconded by Reisch declared carried on a voice vote.

Fund balance report was approved on a motion by Thompson seconded by Reisch declared carried on a voice vote.

Rock County Opportunities contract renewals for the following buildings and service were presented to the board; all contracts reflect a 2.6% inflationary adjustment over the previous year:

1.) Library

2.) Courthouse

3.) LMO

4.) SWHHS

5.) Individual Service Contract for 28 hours per week

 

Motion by Williamson seconded by Overgaard to approve the RCO contracts declared carried on a voice vote.

The County Board was reminded that the annual Rock County Township annual meeting is scheduled for 6 December 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in the basement of the Rock County Community Library and that they are all invited to attend.

Commissioner Williamson informed the board that he had attended the annual Lewis and Clark Meeting, 1 Watershed 1 Plan meeting and Extension.

Commissioner Overgaard informed the board that he had attended Extension, SWHHS, SW Rural Energy Board, and Planning and Zoning.

Commissioner Thompson informed the board that she had attended A.C.E.

Commissioner Burger informed the board that he had attended SWHHS.

The meeting was adjourned by Order of the Chair; Truth in Taxation Public meeting followed the County Board meeting.
