Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 116.07, subd. 7 (a), that Cal Lubben has made application to the County of Rock, for a permit to modify a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.
The proposed feedlot will be located in the NE 1/4 of section 13 in Battle Plain Township, Rock County, Minnesota.
The existing facility consists of dairy confinement with an earthen pit and open lots with runoff controls to house 490 head of dairy cows, 160 head of dairy heifers, and 105 head dairy calves for a total of 819 animal units. The proposed modification will be adding a total confinement barn capable of holding 130 dairy calves and adjusting animal numbers and animal types on site; after the modification animal numbers will be 500 head of dairy cows (over 1,000 lbs), 160 head of dariy cows (under 1,000 lbs), 160 head of dairy heifers, and 130 head of dairy calves. The total animal unit capacity after the propsed modification will be 998 animal units.
All manure from the site will be stored earthen pits and manure packs within the open lots, and total confinement buildings.
This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.
