PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 123B.51, Subdivision 5, NOTICE IS HEREBY
GIVEN by Independent School District No. 671, Hills-Beaver Creek Public Schools, of a public hearing to be held as follows:
H-BC High School Common Area, located at 301 North Summit Avenue, Hills, MN 56138, in Rock County, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
Said hearing will be conducted by hearing officer Attorney Steve Rutzick for the School Board of Independent School District No. 671, or its designees regarding
the closure of the H-BC Elementary School located at 404 South 4th Street, Beaver
Creek, Minnesota 56116.
The H-BC Elementary School currently provides pre-school through 5th grade
programming.
The elementary school is being considered for closure based on the following:
1. The completion of the new elementary facility
2. Avoiding health and safety hazards in the building
3. Cost savings to the School District when the school is closed
4. Increased educational opportunities in new elementary facility
5. Any other reasons which fit the facts of the situation.
Interested members of the communities are invited to attend and will be offered the opportunity to present information after signing up by providing their name and address. Individuals interested in providing testimony for or against the
closure of the H-BC Elementary School are encouraged to sign up ahead of time
by doing one of the following:
a. Send a letter indicating your name, address, and desire to provide input to: 301 North Summit Avenue, PO Box 547, Hills, MN 56138, Attn: Superintendent Todd Holthaus.
b. Call (507) 962-3240, Ext. 2105 and leave your name and address with Amanda Rozeboom, the School District’s Business Manager.
