Monday, Oct. 14, 2024

The Hills-Beaver Creek School Board met for its semi-monthly meeting at 7:00pm at the Secondary School District Board Room, 301 N Summit Avenue, Hills, MN.

Board members and Administration present were Bosch, Gehrke, Harnack, Helgeson, Rauk and Rozeboom. Superintendent Holthaus, Principal Kellenberger and Business Manager Rozeboom were also in attendance. Board member Uittenbogaard was absent.

Motion by Helgeson, second by Harnack, and carried to approve the agenda. Additions: 7.8. and 8.3.

Motion by Rozeboom, second by Helgeson, and carried to approve consent agenda:

-City of Hills use of Hugo Goehle Gymnasium for Sunday Open Gym beginning

November 24, 2024 and ending March 30, 2025

-MN Department of Education Assurance of Compliance for the 2024-2025

school year.

-2024-2025 Staff Development Goals

-Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) request for Starla Scholten starting 10/15/2024

Motion by Harnack, second by Rauk, and carried to approve directing the superintendent and board member Bosch to vote to affirm adding 9th grade to the MSHSL varsity level participants.

Motion by Bosch, second by Rauk, and carried to approve adding a Jr. High Assistant Girls Basketball Coach and adding 6th graders as participants.

Motion by Harnack, second by Rozeboom, and carried to approve Memorandum of Understanding with the Hills-Beaver Creek Education Association regarding the MN Legislature Read Act.

Motion by Helgeson, second by Harnack, and carried to approve Donation Resolution:

$5,223.26 from Junior Class Parents After Prom Committee for the Class of

2025 Student Activity Account

$250.00 from Equitable Foundation for the Football Student Activity Ac-

count 

$50.00 from Blackbaud Giving Fund for Elementary Student Council

$50.00 from Blackbaud Giving Fund for Secondary Student Council
