H-BC students selected for All-State band
Hills-Beaver Creek High School sophomore Tess Van Maanen will perform in the Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State program.
Sophomore classmate Tara Paulsen was selected as an alternate.
Van Maanen, who plays trumpet, auditioned to be one of 565 high school students in one of seven All-State groups. She will attend a summer camp and later perform with the All-State Symphony in February 2021. Paulsen is a percussionist.
MMEA’s All-State is open to band, jazz and choral students. Students can be selected twice for the All-State program.
