Popkes earns degree
Nancy Popkes, Ellsworth, has earned her Master of Science degree in nursing/education online from Western Governors University.
 
SDSU announces Fall 2018 graduates
Several area students met the requirements for a degree and/or certificate program following the Fall 2018 semester at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota.
Luverne: Jordan Stegenga, with honor, Associate of Science, agriculture, food and environmental sciences; Sydnie Weiss-Anderson, cum laude, Bachelor of Science, education and human sciences.
Adrian: Elizabeth Thier, summa cum laude, Bachelor of Science in education and human sciences.
Rushmore: Mackenzie Wagner, cum laude, Bachelor of Science, agriculture, food and environmental sciences.
 
Area students graduate from MSU Mankato
Several area students will receive degrees at graduation ceremonies at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Saturday, May 11.
Jake Aukes, Luverne, will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in special education.
Mitchell Muller, Luverne, will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in finance.
McKenzi Wenninger, Luverne, has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communication studies.
Jacob Kreun, Edgerton, will graduate magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
 
Robinson graduates from UN Lincoln
Emily Robinson, Luverne, was awarded a Master of Science degree from the Office of Graduate Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln commencement ceremonies on May 3.
 
U of M Morris releases Fall 2018 dean’s list
Anthony Cavazos, Luverne, and Jordan Wolford, Adrian, were named to the dean’s list for the Fall 2018 semester at the University of Minnesota Morris.
To be eligible, students must earn a 3.666 grade point average or higher with at least 12 graded credits.
 
Severtson honored by peers
The University of Minnesota Duluth Office of Student Life and Kirby  Student Center  honored Lexie Severtson, a biology major from Luverne, with the Arrowhead Award at the Leadership Awards Reception April 29. The award is presented to an outstanding member of a registered student organization to honor service to their group, and the recipient is chosen by the members of the group.
 
Taubert graduates from Morningside
Carey Taubert, Beaver Creek, received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, at spring commencement Saturday, May 11.
