U of M Duluth names honor students
The University of Minnesota Duluth has announced the Spring 2019 dean’s list. To be eligible, students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Named to the dean’s list are Samantha Ykema, Jasper, a junior majoring in biology; Mark Robinson, Luverne, a junior majoring in stats and actuarial science; Megan Rogers, Luverne, a sophomore majoring in psychology; and Brandon Winter, Luverne, a junior majoring in civil engineering.
 
Area students named to Minnesota West dean’s list
Minnesota West Community and Technical College has named several area students to the Spring 2019 dean’s list. Students must earn 12 graded credits with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA to qualify. The following students were named:
Adrian: Christopher Christians, Qingyuan Oiao, Allison Richards, Alexandria Roloff; Beaver Creek: Avery Van Roekel; Hardwick: Dayne Niemeyer; Luverne: Jason Aanenson, Laura Kastner, Carlos Lira Cardona, Ashley Monier, Annabell Petronek; Rushmore: Kirby Brandy.
 
Luverne grad earns doctorate degree
Matthew Oehlerts, Luverne, graduated Saturday, May 11, from Briar Cliff University, Sioux City, Iowa, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He is a 2012 graduate of Luverne High School and the son of Gregg and Kris Oehlerts.
 
Mount Marty awards degrees May 11
Andrea Roberts, Luverne, received a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice degree at spring commencement at Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota, on Saturday, May 11.
 
MSU Moorhead lists honor students
Area students were named to the Spring 2019 dean’s list at Minnesota State University Moorhead. To qualify, students must earn a 3.25 GPA or higher with 12 graded credits.
Named to the dean’s list were H-BC graduates Riley Boese, communications studies, and Grace Holthaus, speech/language/hearing science; and Bryana Thorson, Luverne, theater arts.
 
Jelken honored at Northwestern
Christopher Jelken, Luverne, has been named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2019 semester at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. To be named, students must earn a 3.50 GPA or higher with a minimum of 12 graded credits.
Jelken, a junior, is majoring in business administration/international business. He is the son of James and Paula Jelken, Luverne.
