SDSU awards scholarships to
local students
Andrea Severtson, Kenneth, will receive the Yellow and Blue Scholarship for the academic year at South Dakota State University, Brookings.
The scholarship is part of the Jackrabbit Guarantee which awards a minimum $1,000 academic scholarship to incoming freshmen who scored 24 or better on the ACT and maintain full-time enrollment with a 3.0 GPA or better.
Severtson, daughter of Sterling and Denise Severtson, graduated from Luverne High School and is a freshman animal science major. She plans to become a veterinarian. In high school, she was involved in 4-H, FFA, peer helping and figure skating.
Hilary Deragisch, Luverne, will receive a Shopko Scholarship at SDSU for the academic year.
The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing careers in retail pharmacy who live in one of the 13 states where Shopko operates.
Deragisch, who is majoring in pharmacy, is the daughter of David and Lori Deragisch, Luverne. She is a member of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists and the Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy fraternity.
 
St. Cloud State announces fall semester dean’s list
St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, has released the Fall 2015 dean’s list. To qualify, students must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher on a scale of 4.0.
Named to the dean’s list from this area are Nathan Loosbrock, Adrian, (School of Health and Human Services, Nursing) and Spencer Schacht, Luverne, (College of Liberal Arts, Mass Communication).
 
SDSU releases fall dean’s list
South Dakota State University in Brookings has named several area students to the dean’s list for Fall 2015 semester. To be named, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Students with an asterisk received a 4.0. (Key for acronyms at end.)

Bethany Lutheran issues fall dean’s list
Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato has listed two local students to their Fall 2015 dean’s list. To make the list, a student must carry at least 14 academic credits and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average.
Included on the list are Cora Mumme of Hardwick and Andrew Jelken of Luverne.
 
SMSU Announces fall dean’s list
Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall has listed a number of area students on the dean’s list for the Fall 2015 semester.  Eligible students must achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher. Students with an asterisk received a 4.0.
