Robert “Bob” Iverson, age 76, husband of Sharon, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, surrounded by his family at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake, Minnesota. Memorial service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with interment following in the Christ Lutheran Church Columbarium. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society, the American Stroke Association, and the Scholarship America - Dollars for Scholars. Urn Bearers: son, Seth Iverson; Grandsons, Theo Hill and Gunnar Hill.
Robert Eugene Iverson (Bob) was born on March 25, 1949, to Paul and Ruth (Nelson) Iverson at the Luverne Municipal Hospital in Luverne, Minnesota. He was baptized on April 17, 1949, by Pastor L.P. Lund at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Luverne, and confirmed on June 2, 1963, by Pastor Paul Peterson at Bethany Lutheran Church, also in Luverne. He was raised on the family farm, and for his entire life, loved the hustle and bustle of farm life. He graduated from Luverne High School on June 1, 1967, and attended Austin State Junior College, earning his associate’s degree on June 12, 1969. Bob was on wrestling teams in high school and college. He continued his education at Moorhead State College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree in the spring of 1971.
Bob became a fifth-grade elementary teacher at Glencoe Middle School in the fall of 1971, but he also taught fourth graders at Helen Baker Elementary in his last years as a Glencoe teacher. While teaching at the Middle School, Bob coached middle school wrestling, girls’ tennis, cross country, behind-the-wheel drivers’ education, and motorcycle safety training. In August 1987, Bob completed his Master of Science Degree at Mankato State University and went on to complete his administrator’s degree on June 7, 1991. That fall, he took an administrative internship at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, becoming the elementary principal at Pemberton for two years. Bob was then a principal in Springfield, Minnesota, for three years and at Central Elementary School in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, for 14 years. He retired on June 30, 2009.
Bob loved working in the field of education. He was a member of MEA, NEA, MESPA, and Lions. He believed in being a lifelong learner and that every teacher and student should strive to become the best person they could become. This message was sent through inspirational passages and quotes he found and put on various memos, opening day school letters, and notes to staff and students. He was a devout Christian and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church since moving to Glencoe. He served on the church board and was a mentor for confirmation students.
Bob met his wife, Sharon Louise Reznechek, in 1978 when she was hired as an English teacher at the Glencoe Middle School. They were married at Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe on July 26, 1980. A few years later, they moved to a rural home. Bob collected old tractors and farm equipment and enjoyed using them to maintain his property. He enjoyed pheasant and duck hunting with the six golden retrievers he raised, trained, and loved, and he was a member of Pheasants Forever. Other activities and hobbies he enjoyed included camping trips to the Boundary Waters, trips on his motorcycle, skiing trips with friends and family to Michigan, family camping trips to state parks using his RV trailer, fishing, gardening, raising a few chickens, building model cars, and photography. After his retirement, he spent time with family and friends at his lake cabin in northern Minnesota. Bob and Sharon were married for 45 years and were blessed with three children, Sonja, Seth, and Samantha. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather who treasured being with his children, son-in-law, and grandsons.
Due to health issues, Bob lived the last year of his life at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake, Minnesota. He was cared for by a kind and dedicated staff and his loving wife.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon, children, Dr. Sonja (Taylor) Iverson-Hill, Seth Iverson, and Samantha Iverson; grandchildren, Theo and Gunnar Hill; sisters, Patricia Lehmann (Dr. James), Lois Jorgenson (Dr. Dennis); brothers, Richard Iverson (Cammy) and Ralph Iverson (Terri); sisters-in-law, Marie Brand (Steve), Janet Reznechek, Carol Reznechek, Deborah Lies (Steve); brothers-in-law, Don Reznechek (Cindy), and Richard Reznechek (Lori); and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Iverson; sister-in-law, Janet Drong; and brothers-in-law, Arnie Reznechek and Duane (Dewey) Reznechek.
