
Robert Carl “Ike” Wiese, age 89, of Luverne, died Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
He was born January 5, 1936, in Luverne, to Carl and Mary (Jensen) Wiese. He attended school in Luverne and graduated in the class of 1954. Ike later attended Dunwoody College in Minneapolis, graduating in 1962. He joined the Minnesota Army National Guard where he served from 1954 to 1964.
Ike married Doreen Kiffmeyer in 1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waite Park, Minnesota. They moved to Luverne in 1966. Ike bought the family milk hauling business in 1967 where he worked until 1978. He bought Napa Auto Parts in 1978 and worked there until he retired in 2002.
Ike was involved in the car culture his entire life, everything from drag racing, car restoration and building street rods, that was his passion. Ike and Doreen also toured the United States on motorcycle, logging just under 200,000 miles. They also enjoyed their winters in Mesa, Arizona, in their retirement years.
Ike is survived by his son, Dan (Lisa) Wiese, Luverne; two grandsons, Alex (Stacey) Wiese, Brandon, South Dakota; and Tanner (Jordyn) Wiese, Hartford, South Dakota; and two great-granddaughters, Cali and Brooklyn Wiese.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doreen, on January 26, 2021; and a grandson, Scott Wiese.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne.
Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne at a later date.
