Ramona Joanne Klooster, 79, Adrian, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, after a battle with multiple myeloma.
A funeral service was Monday, July 27, at the United Methodist Church in Adrian. Burial was at the Adrian Cemetery.
Ramona Peterson was born Sept. 20, 1935, to Marlin and Florence (Henning) Peterson in St. Peter. She grew up on a farm in rural St. Peter. She was a member of the Scandian Grove Lutheran Church where she was baptized and later confirmed. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1953. She then attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis where she studied to become an airline attendant. After graduation she worked for Northwest Airlines where she learned to operate the Teletype. She later moved to Mankato to work in the registrar's office at Mankato State College.
In 1956 Ramona married Marvin Klooster. The couple moved to Adrian in 1956. In 1965 they began farming near Adrian.
Ramona enjoyed bowling with her church group, having coffee with friends and volunteering when the bloodmobile was in town. She also enjoyed reading and traveling.
Ramona is survived by her husband, Marvin Klooster, Adrian; two sons, Kevin Klooster (Gwen Mulder), Adrian, and Kenny (Jill) Klooster, Mankato; four grandchildren, Cody and Kory, Adrian, and Chandler and Cameron, Mankato; two sisters, Marlys (Ron) Howard of Merrifield, and Diane (Louis) Birr, St. Peter; two brothers, Marshall (Sandra) Peterson, Maple Grove, and Marlin (Mary) Peterson, Mountain Lake; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant nephew, Michael Birr.
Memorials may be directed to The Salvation Army, The American Cancer Society or Adrian United Methodist Church.
