Myron Edward Smook, 68, Magnolia, died Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne.

Myron Smook was born on May 19, 1952, to Harold and Marjorie (Donth) Smook in Luverne. Myron lived in Magnolia all his life except for a few years living in Fargo, North Dakota, when he was in his late teens. At the age of 25 Myron built his house from the ground up. He worked as a mechanic at Connell Chevrolet and Herman Ford. Most of his working years were spent as a truck driver, working for Midwest Coast and IBP. His other jobs included working for Cenex and as a welder for Sioux Falls Construction, Midwest Railcar Repair, and finally Wheeler Tank before retiring in 2020.
Myron enjoyed living on his property in Magnolia. He loved his dogs. They kept him company and were his family when no one else was around. He loved to work on cars and built two different hot rods. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was always willing to help others, whether it was fixing something or giving advice.
Myron is survived by his children, David (Karen) Smook of Brandon, South Dakota, Scott Smook of Minneapolis, and Jennifer (Kendall) Rhyne of Rockville, Maryland; eight grandchildren; and  siblings Curtis (Mary) Smook, Dennis (Arlene) Smook, Randy (Vicky) Smook, Kevin Smook, and Jenalee (Allen) Klein.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
