Margaret VanOtterloo
Margaret Delia VanOtterloo, 97, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at Whispering Heights Nursing Home in Rock Valley, Iowa.
A memorial service was Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with private burial before the service at Valley View Cemetery.
Margaret Delia VanderVelde was born April 9, 1918, to Peter and Josie (Wissink) VanderVelde at Rock Valley.
On May 29, 1937, Margaret married Clarence (Cliff) VanOtterloo. They lived in Rock Valley before moving to Minnesota in 1949.
Margaret is survived by six children; a son, Howard (Judy) VanOtterloo, Salem, Oregon; five daughters, Judy (Fred) Smeins, College Station, Texas, Darlene Stegenga, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Clare (Harlan) VanDis, Rock Valley, Shirley (Fenton) Groen, Rochester, New Hampshire, and Debbie (Dale) Granneman, Fairbault; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Gertrude VanderVelde, Rock Valley.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings Martin VanderVelde, Peter VanderVelde, Janet Kruizenga and AnnaMae Gerritson; a son-in-law, Pierre Stegenga; a daughter-in-law, Elaine VanOtterloo; a grandson, Tim VanDis and a great-grandson, Elijah Shrift.
