Margaret Irene (Halverson) Sims, 80, of Minneapolis, passed away surrounded by her family on March 28, 2024, following a long battle with auto-immune liver disease.

She was born in 1943 in Luverne to Walter and Clara (Raad) Halverson. She graduated from Bethany Lutheran in 1961.

She retired from Medtronic and enjoyed spending time with her husband, kids and grandkids in Outing, Minnesota.

Margaret (Marge to some) liked to have fun and keep things light. She loved nature, mostly birds and flowers and an occasional friendly chipmunk.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Sims; her three children, Julie (Rust) Bacigalupo (Greg) and their children, Cole and Emma; Gina (Rust) Dahl (Denis) and their children Grady, Addie, and Josie; Tony Rust (Rebecca) and their children Alex, Ben, and Cassandra Rust; two brothers Stan (Linda) Halverson, Alexandria; and Gary (Jean) Halverson, Magnolia; two sisters Louise Burley, Pequot Lakes; Adela Faugstad, Emmons. Her loving sister Phyllis (Bob) Kruger of Lachine, Michigan, sadly passed away four days after Margaret.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Arnold Halverson; brother-in-laws Norman Faugstad and Harlan Burley.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later time.
