Keith Rust

Lead Summary

Keith Earl Rust, age 74 of Buffalo,  passed away with his family by his side on October 24, 2015, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.  A very aggressive form of leukemia took his life in just three short months.
Keith was born to Arthur and Grayce Rust of Luverne, MN, on August 6, 1941.
Keith is survived by his loving wife, Karen, of 34 years.  Keith is also survived by his children Julie (Gregory) Bacigalupo of Elk River, Gina (Denis) Dahl of Elk River, and Tony (Rebecca) Rust of Mpls., stepchildren Brian (Deb) Ochetti of Prior Lake, Jon (Michelle) Ochetti of Plymouth and Kellie (Michael) Werman of Rockford.  Also surviving are his two brothers Bud (Gloria) Rust of Luverne and Donald (Arliss) Rust of Buffalo, NY.  He leaves behind two sisters Colleen (Gene) Cragoe and Jeanne (Edward) Woodley, both of Luverne.  He also leaves two sisters-in-law Patricia Dishaw of Crystal Falls, MI and Elaine Dishaw of Racine, WI.  His 15 grandchildren are going to dearly miss their very special Grandpa!  Keith is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his beautiful sister Patricia Roberts.
Keith worked at Boston Scientific for many years as a Machine Designer until his retirement in 2006.
His love of cars (mainly Studebakers) over the years brought him great joy as well as many great friends.  He was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club and the Wright County Car Club.
Keith honorably served his country from 1962-1966 in the U.S. Air Force.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army or Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Buffalo Ev. Free Church, 2051 – 50th St. NE in Buffalo.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 30  at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service all at Buffalo Ev. Free Church in Buffalo.  Pastor Doug Whittlef will officiate.  Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
