Joanne R. Radde, 81, of Watertown passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at her residence.
Gathering of family and friends will be Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, from 3-6 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 141 E 1st St, in Waconia.
Joanne Rose Hoogland was born July 11, 1944, at home, in Leota Tsp., Minnesota, the daughter of Vernon and Sophie (Timmerman) Hoogland. On March 21, 1970, she was united in marriage to Michael Radde at the Waconia Moravian Church.
Joanne grew up in southern Minnesota and graduated from Magnolia High School. After marriage, she worked alongside her husband at the Radde Slaughterhouse, meat market. Joanne also worked at the Nightengale nursing home in Waconia and then later at the Excelsior Care Center. Her favorite role, however, was that of homemaker. She delighted in caring for her home and family.
The passing of her beloved husband was hard on Joanne, but she found respite in feeding and watching the birds and other wildlife out her windows, tending to her cats, completing crossword puzzles and reading National Graphic. Though a private person, Joanne loved her family and they rest easy knowing she’s united with her husband and other loved ones once more.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; parents Vernon and Sophie Hoogland; brother Jim Hoogland; sisters Mary Dammer, Diane Hoogland; niece Stacy Polzin; father-in-law and mother-in-law Skip and Hilda Radde; brothers-in-law Jerry Radde, Walter Radde.
Joanne is survived by her loving family: children Sandra (Mark) Stein of Watertown, Barbara (Russell) Scherber of Buffalo; grandchildren Brandon (Paige) Stein, Meghan Stein and special friend Tylor Johnson, Michael (Nicole) Scherber, Kyle Scherber and special friend Rylee Redd, Stacy Scherber; great-grandchildren Nora, Everett, Ella, and Remi Stein, Weston Johnson, Elliott Scherber; sister Debbie (Arland) Polzin of Windom; sisters-in-law Betty Radde of Waconia, Judy Hoogland of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
