Jeffrey Lee O’Toole, 63, Rochester, formerly of Luverne, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery in Luverne.
Jeffrey O’Toole was born April 29, 1952, to Raymond and Deanna (Vatland) O’Toole in Luverne. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1970 and later from Winona State University where he received his Master’s Degree in special education. Jeff taught special education in Rochester for 34 years before retiring in 2008. His years in teaching were for Central, Willow Creek, John Marshall and Transition Into Adulthood Program.
He enjoyed traveling, house remodeling and photography. He was an avid supporter of and volunteer for ARC for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the Ability Builders Center.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Deanna O’Toole, Luverne; five siblings, Patrick O’Toole, Rochester, Mark O’Toole and Mary Jo (Darrell) Hemme, all of Luverne, Kathleen (Gary) Dahedl, Apple Valley, and Barbara (Paul) O’Toole-Brehm, Eagan; nephews Alex, Gavin and Andrew; nieces Brittney, Brianna, Maddie, Hanna and Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, and a brother, Michael O’Toole.
Memorials may be given to ARC of SE Minnesota or the Luverne Hospice Cottage.
