Evelyn L. Bruhn, age 91, formerly of Magnolia, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Sunrise View Assisted Living in Adrian, Minnesota.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m. with gathering of family and friends beginning at 9:30 a.m., all at Hartquist Funeral Home in Luverne, Minnesota. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth, Minnesota.

Evelyn L. Bruhn was born on June 27, 1932, to Lester and Edna (Vogt) Wieck in Magnolia, Minnesota. Evelyn was confirmed at the Magnolia United Methodist Church. She attended school and graduated from Magnolia High School in 1950.

On February 11, 1951, Evelyn was united in marriage to Harm Bruhn. The couple began their life farming near Magnolia. They spent one year in California before returning to Minnesota where they made their home on the family farm north of Magnolia. Evelyn worked at Campbell Soup in Worthington, Minnesota, until her retirement in 1992.

Evelyn later moved into Magnolia, and in 2011 she moved into an apartment in Luverne, Minnesota. In February 2022, she moved to Sunrise View Assisted Living in Adrian, Minnesota, where on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Evelyn died peacefully at the age of 91 years and 9 months.

Evelyn was a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church. She enjoyed her garden, field work and a good game of cards. She loved to go dancing, especially to polkas and waltzes. Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by her seven children, Richard (Linda) Bruhn of Magnolia, Randall (Sheri) Bruhn of Selma, Alabama, Rosalinda (Jim) Janshen of Adrian, Ruth (Wayne) Bents of Lismore, Minnesota, Rachelle (Gary) Bents of Deepwater, Missouri, Rebecca Belcher/Avis of Clinton, Missouri, and Robyn Berghorst of Bingham Lake, Minnesota; 31 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Marilyn Sudenga of Hills, Minnesota, and Verlyn (Alma) Wieck of Omaha, Nebraska; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harm; a daughter, Roxanne; a son, Ronald; two great-grandsons, Logan Belcher and Cole Janshen; a great-great-grandson, Aiden Mazzini; parents; two sisters, Beverly Fleseland and Generose Bush; sister-in-law, Carol Kuhlman; and sons-in-law, Rick Berghorst, Gary Belcher, and Chuck Avis.
