Evelyn Mae Titus Boone, formerly from Luverne, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2025, at her home in Rochester, Minnesota, at the age of 100.

Born on Jan. 31, 1925, in Earl, Wisconsin, Evelyn was the daughter of Guy and Christina Titus. On July 5, 1945, she married Ervin S. Boone.  Together they shared 69 years of marriage. The couple shared their skills and compassion on a medical mission to Honduras. Following Ervin’s retirement as a medical doctor in Luverne, Evelyn helped manage a small medical clinic in Stone Lake, Wisconsin, combining their talents to bring care and healing to others.

Evelyn was active in her church, serving on committees and leading initiatives within the United Methodist community. Her leadership extended far beyond the congregation — she was state president of the Minnesota Medical Auxiliary and an enthusiastic supporter of community arts and music programs. Evelyn was a fierce female voice in getting things done. A proud 61-year member of P.E.O., Evelyn held every major office within the organization and embodied its ideals of sisterhood and philanthropy.

Fondly known as “Cookie Grandma” to her expansive family, Evelyn poured her creativity and love into cooking, baking, sewing, and knitting. Evelyn had a special interest in the family genealogy. In addition to updating family lineage, she published family Civil War diary books.

Evelyn was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, a sharp bridge player, loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing.  Working with crossword puzzles based her love and dedication to “Wheel of Fortune” each evening.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters Janet Kae Boone Jessen (Delbert), Jeanne Rae Boone Bowron (John), Jane Ellen Boone Golla (James), and Jodie Lynn Boone; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, and brothers Clifford, Joseph and Richard Titus.
